In the US flooded from hurricane Harvey, the chemical plant explosions

At the chemical plant of the city of Crosby in the South American state of Texas affected by hurricane Harvey, about 02:00 local time, two explosions occurred: on the territory of the enterprise rising black smoke. About it reports a press-service of the company Arkema, which owns the factory chemicals.

As a result of the incident injured Deputy Sheriff – inhalation of chemical vapors. He’s been hospitalized. Also the hospital has treated nine people.

Earlier, in the area of the 2.5-kilometer zone was carried out the evacuation of people out of 300 nearby houses. Roads leading to the dangerous area is blocked.

“An explosion or fire is not to avoid” – a few hours before the incident warned the CEO of the company Arkema rich Rowe.

Employees warned that organic peroxides and other chemicals are stored in several areas in the plant, because the deletion of the following explosions is impossible. According to them, it is best now not to try to extinguish fires, and to give chemicals to completely burn.
