The President and the heads of churches participated in “Prayer for Ukraine”

In St. Sophia Cathedral held a festive event “Prayer for Ukraine”, which was attended by President Petro Poroshenko with his family, government members and heads of religious communities. About it reports a press-service of the President.

The meeting was attended by the Primate of the UOC-KP Filaret, the Primate of the UOC-MP Onufry, Archbishop of Kyiv and Halych of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the Bishop, the ordinary of Kyiv-Zhytomyr diocese of the Roman Catholic Church Vitaly Krivitsky, the chief Rabbi of Kiev and Ukraine Yaakov Dov Bleich, the mufti of the Spiritual administration of Muslims of Ukraine Tamim Ahmed and senior Bishop Union free churches of Christians of Evangelical faith of Ukraine, Vasyl Raichynets.

After the speeches, the choir performed the anthem “God is one, the Great, save us Ukraine”.

In the solemn moleben was also attended by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, members of the government, NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko.
