In Kharkov on a bribe detained the head of the regional police

In the Kharkiv region detained the head of the investigation Department of national police on suspicion of taking bribes. About it reports a press-service GPU.

“It is established that the Deputy chief – the chief of investigative Department of Kupyansk of the police Department of the Main Department of Ukraine in Kharkiv region received from the relative of a suspect in one criminal proceedings … illegal benefit in the amount of $6 thousand,” – said in the message.

In exchange, the police officer allegedly promised to change the criminal-legal qualification of the actions of the suspect, and also to change the measure of restraint not involving custody, said the press service.

In fact openly criminal proceedings under part 3 St. 368 criminal code of Ukraine (getting an official holding a responsible position, undue advantage).

Now the issue of election to the detainee of a measure of restraint in form of detention. A police officer can be punished with imprisonment for a term up to 10 years with confiscation of property and with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years.
