Chinese Shrimp Trendy restaurant located in a shopping center in Hangzhou (Zhejiang province), was hit by a wave of criticism for its advertising campaign, in which the owners offered women a discount depending on the size of their Breasts, according to Qianjiang Evening Post.
According to the newspaper, local residents in Hangzhou complained to the officials after they saw the posters Trendy Shrimp with the advertising campaign. On the posters was a picture drawn in a cartoon style girl in lingerie. The poster was also written that the visitors of the restaurant with a large breast size get big discount.
As noted, in one of the complaints on an advertising campaign, posters were called “vulgar” and “discriminatory against women”. The posters first appeared in public last week, however, after a storm of indignation restaurateurs had to remove them.
“After the rally started, the number of visitors increased by 20%. Some girls who came to see us, very proud of their appearance. They have nothing to hide,” said the General Manager of the restaurant LAN Chenggang. However, he assured that visitors can apply for a discount through the waitresses to “avoid shame” talking on this subject with the male staff.
Note that this is not the first attempt of Chinese restaurants to increase their popularity with unusual promotions. So in 2015 the restaurant “Jinan” in Shandong province has introduced a new pricing policy with the aim of attracting the greatest number of visitors. The action was spread only to the fair sex. Girls can get a discount up to 90%, if they come to the school in a very short skirt.
The maximum discount could count the visitors, whose distance from the knee at the hem of skirts and dresses will be 33 centimeters. Most modest girls in the not so outrageous fashions you can get a 20% discount.
In the same year the restaurant “Jeju Island”, which opened in Zhengzhou (East China), has offered free meals to beautiful customers. Visitors were photographed in “assessment appeal”, after which their nominations are considered by a special Commission, consisting of plastic surgeons, who sponsor the restaurant. Paramedics assessed the appearance of customers in shape and grooming of the face, eyes, nose and mouth. One of the advantages of, for example, was considered a prominent forehead. Every day, 50 visitors, which received the highest evaluation of the Commission could have lunch on the house.
No less inventive, the action took place in another Chinese restaurant in the South-West of the country in 2014, when the right to additional discounts received total customers of the stronger sex, and extremely slender ladies women. Males weighing more than 140 kg and women weighing under 35 kg, was served in the restaurant free of charge.
