The Treasurer of the Vatican rejects accusations of pedophilia

76-year-old cardinal Pell is the most senior figure of the Catholic Church, against whom it was instituted trial.
Attorney cardinal Robert Richter made a statement that Pell considers himself innocent on all counts in the indictments. Sam Pell declined to comment.
“For the avoidance of doubt … Cardinal Pell pleads not guilty to all charges and will preserve the implied innocence that he has,” said the lawyer.
The next hearing will take place on 6 October.
Details of the trial are still not published, the police reported the presence of “multiple claimants” – possible victims of the cardinal, reports Deutsche Welle.
Among them Australian media call the two men allegedly sexually abused by cardinal Pell in the 1970-ies. In addition, according to another three men, in the 1980s cardinal appeared in the exposed to imperfect young men in the locker room.
As it was reported, earlier the Pell acknowledged that the Church had committed “terrible mistakes,” refusing to believe the affected children.
