This was stated by the Minister of defence of Poland, Anthony Macierewicz at the meeting of defence Ministers of NATO in Brussels, according to Polish radio.
Macarevich, noted that the exercise Zapad-2017 often recalled during the meeting.
“How about a big threat to the stabilization of the Eastern flank, and related problems”, – said the head of the defense Ministry of Poland.
Macierewicz also reported that he had discussed Russian military exercises with the U.S. Secretary of defense James Mattis.
“Both sides expressed concern about the conduct of these exercises and regular different actions during these maneuvers, which threaten European security,” he said.
In addition, he noted that NATO troops will remain in Poland until then, while there will be a real threat from Russia.
“This presence is closely connected with the Russian aggression, first against Georgia, then against Ukraine, in violation of the basic norms of international law and a threat to the security of the European peoples”, – said Macierewicz.
Earlier, the commander of the US army in Europe Ben Hodges saidthat NATO will strengthen the presence on the Eastern flank during the Russian-Belarusian exercises Zapad-2017.
