Mogherini told how to expand the EU after Brexit
The EU conducts accession negotiations with the Balkan countries
After Britain’s withdrawal from the composition of the European Union, the EU will expand at the expense of the Balkan countries. This was stated by the representative of the Union for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini in an interview with La Stampa, reports RBC-Ukraine.
“I am convinced that the European Union in the future will not remain part of the 27 countries because we will have new member States. I think it will be the countries of the Balkans, with whom we are negotiating on accession. Many call this process “extension”, but I prefer to talk about the reunification of Europe”, – said Mogherini.
Earlier, Mogherini stated that the UK will lose from their decision to leave the European Union more than the European Union. According to her, expected very difficult negotiations with London on Brexit. They will start as planned in June, after the British will vote in a General election. Also Mogherini believes that the EU after Brexit will continue to be the first market in the world and the second largest economy in the world.
