Kirilenko: Russia can participate in the Eurovision song contest with the other party

Russia may take part in the Eurovision song contest-2017 in Kiev, if we choose another representative. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister Vyacheslav Kyrylenko at the Ukrainian radio.

“Russia may take part in Eurovision-2017 in Kiev, but if the party that does not violate the law. And I think the same decision would have taken France, Germany, Britain, Poland, any country ( … ) and to demand from Ukraine an unprecedented decisions in favor of Russia and in violation of its own laws and, by the way, international law is unacceptable,” – said Kirilenko.

The Deputy Minister noted that Ukraine is working to ensure that the contest went well and if Russia will come to represent another party, he will ensure the safety and everything you need.

The European broadcasting Union (EBU) said about the threat to the future of Ukraine’s participation in Eurovision, if the country does not refuse the decision to prohibit the entry of the contestant from Russia Yulia Samoilova.

22 March 2017, the SBU announced Samoylova persona non grata over illegal visits it temporarily occupied Crimea. In the EBU proposed to broadcast a performance of the singer in the video, however, the government of the aggressor state of Russia refused from this idea. Samoilov she hopesthat “everything will change”.
