Putin wanted to take Kiev in three days, but surrendered Aleppo in two – a map of the retreat of Russian troops in Syria
The Russian military is shutting down all its bases in the provinces of Aleppo, Hama and Deir ez-Zor and fleeing to the Khmeimim airbase on the Mediterranean coast.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who dreamed of capturing Kiev in three days at the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, was stuck on Ukrainian territory after two and a half years of fighting, lost part of Russian territory, his army suffered huge losses in both manpower and military equipment, losses from sanctions became catastrophic, and now, in addition, he suffers disgrace in Syria.
Exhausted by the war in Ukraine, the Russian army missed a lightning strike by the Syrian rebels, who in just two days took control of most of Aleppo, one of the largest cities in Syria. In 2016, this city, with the help of Russia, came under the control of the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, and the operation to capture it was loudly praised by Russian propaganda.
However, eight years later, the Russian military is forced to curtail all its bases in the provinces of Aleppo, Hama and Deir ez-Zor and flee to the Khmeimim airbase located in Latakia province.
Currently, the Syrian rebels are moving towards the strategically important city of Hama, which is about 30 km away, and Z-channels are already predicting that the militias will have to surrender all of Syria, except Latakia and Tartus.
“The pro-Turkish forces in Syria are advancing further. Two main Russian bases in the region have been identified on the map.
On the second map, Russian troops are retreating from two large provinces at once to prevent pro-Turkish forces from cutting Syria in half and cutting off their forces from two main bases.
Lavrov hurried to call Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The Iranian Foreign Minister is also urgently flying to Turkey.
Assad is finished. It’s a matter of time. Or the question of big, very big concessions to Russia and Iran so that Turkey stops,” the observers of the Telegram channel Nesemos write meanwhile.
Israeli army officer Yigal Levin writes about the likely surrender of the city of Hama by Assad’s troops.
“The Syrian rebels are rapidly approaching him, meeting no resistance. Further south is the city of Homs. In general, coastal Latakia risks being cut off, as well as the coast itself, where the Alawite minority lives, which is the basis of the Assad regime – his family and his security forces. Russian military bases are also located there,” the analyst notes.
Meanwhile, the rebels continue to publish footage of captured military equipment.
Earlier Dialog.UA reported that on Saturday, information was received about the rebels taking full control of Idlib province.
According to foreign media, the Kremlin has promised to provide additional military assistance to the Assad regime within 72 hours.
