Three years ago, Google refused to support its Google Earth service in a separate application, promising to focus on developing its web version. It’s been awhile and the company finally made good on that promise, releasing a add-on for popular browsers. We are talking about Firefox, Edge and Opera, but in the future there will be a version for Safari from Apple.
The main challenge was the political divisions – the first browser-based version of the service was designed for Chrome and just under it. Because of this, quickly migrate the service to other browsers failed, and eventually he had to start from scratch. To do this, by the way very useful the newest tool WebAssembly.
The World Wide Web consortium recommended WebAssembly for use only recently, on 5 December 2019, as the fourth native language for browsers HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Along with code snippets in C++ and it formed the basis of the service, but the work is not completed. And so everywhere except in Chrome, the stable functioning of the Google Earth is not yet guaranteed, so you may have to gain a little patience.
