The British government announced that from next month in the appeal of the return of the old passport is blue, not red like today.

The interior Ministry of the United Kingdom said that the citizens can receive passports of the old sample until the appropriate skin, according to RBC with reference to the channel Sky News.

A passport will issue in early March, and from mid-2020, a new document will be available only in this color.

“Exit from the European Union has given us a unique opportunity to restore our national identity. With the return to iconic British design – blue-and-gold – passport will again be woven into our community,” – said the Minister of internal Affairs of Pretty Patel.

In the new passport page with information about the British citizen will be made of polycarbonate (the same material used to manufacture bulletproof glass), made on technologies required for securing data. On the back cover will depict the emblems of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

According to the interior Ministry, the new passports will also be made of “the latest and most secure printing techniques and designs” to make them “harder to forge”. A standard passport will continue to contain a 34 page passport for frequent travel abroad – 54 pages.
