The United States announced sanctions against subsidiaries of “Rosneft” RTSA and Chairman of the Board of Directors of this company are illegal and unjustified. This is stated in the statement issued by the press service of Rosneft.

Rosneft is implementing projects in Venezuela in strict accordance with international standards and national legislation”, — stated in the message.
It is noted that in the implementation of the projects the company carries out commercial activities, acting in the interests of shareholders and does not pursue political goals.
As emphasized in the company “Rosneft” became the investor in the economy of Venezuela long before the imposition of U.S. sanctions, and its activity in the country associated with the implementation of mining projects and trading.
“The company does not violate the U.S. illegal restrictions that have been repeatedly recognized by the American regulator”, — added in “Rosneft”.
Sanctions, as the company said, are “arbitrary, selective, as other international companies, including American, carry out similar activities in Venezuela.”
“While the U.S. Treasury did not provide any evidence of illegal activity and violations of the US imposed unilateral restrictions”, — said the press service.
United States earlier announced sanctions against Vice-President “Rosneft” Didier Casimiro.
In sanctionnee list for Venezuela was included in the structural unit of Rosneft Rosneft Trading SA, Chairman of the Board of Directors which is Casimiro.
The Russian foreign Ministry, commenting on Washington’s decision, stressed that the Russian side does not accept the restrictive measures which the United States is trying to “subjugate the whole world to his will”.
