To CES 2020, the brand has prepared a new Segway type personal transport vehicle – self-balancing movable chair. It’s called Segway’s-Pod and is designed for comfortable short trips.
Most Segway S-Pod is similar to a massive armchair with a weight of 150 kg, to which is attached a pair of large wheels and several more small pull – it to balance during complex maneuvers. To change direction here applies the familiar principle of the displacement of the center of gravity, but you don’t have to lean, control is done via a special joystick. It is reported that the seat can reach the speed of 40 km/h distance per charge 70 km.
An obvious disadvantage of the Segway S-Pod – the lack of a roof and the ability to move only on a level surface. The device is much more massive than the electric skateboard or bike with the power plant, but inferior in handling characteristics even the simplest scooter. However, the manufacturer is positioning new car as a way to move the “last mile” – from public transport to the door of the office or between campuses of the University.
