The French authorities want to restart economic relations with Russia. This was stated by the Minister of economy and Finance of France Bruno Le Mayor at a meeting with representatives of various sectors of the economy.
“We want to restart our economic exchanges with Moscow in compliance with international law, not being constrained extraterritorial financial sanctions – the first obstacle to the development of economic relations”, – quotes the words of Le Mayor, RIA “Novosti”. He also spoke about his recent visit to Moscow, where Le is the Mayor ensured that the decision of the President of Emmanuel Macron to establish strategic ties with Russia will be implemented.
The Minister promised within six months to find “the current solution in the financial area,” which would allow not only to achieve a restart of relations with Moscow, but “to avoid the consequences of extraterritorial sanctions,” which are “an infringement upon the sovereignty of the nation”, reports TASS.
In December last year, Bruno Le Mayor and the Minister of economic development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin signed a Declaration of intent to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of long-term financing. Then Le the Mayor noted that the parties intend to seek “innovative solutions, extraordinary in its essence” in order to overcome the problem of the us sanctions against Russia.
