SBU in the Kharkov city Council appropriated more than 5 million UAH for road repairs

KIEV. 18 Nov. UNN. SBU exposed the facts of misappropriation of the leadership of one of the departments of Kharkiv city Council more than five million hryvnias allocated from the city budget on repair of roads. It is reported by UNN citing the press service of the SBU.
“Operatives of the intelligence service established that during the 2016-2018 the Department’s administration illegally sold an asphalt crumb (granules), which remained after repair of roads. Officials have implemented tons of materials controlled by the firm at prices five times lower than the market. Merchants sold the products for real value. The money the organizers of the transaction is assigned”, – stated in the message.
In addition, the officials of the municipality did not have the right to dispose of the materials of construction. After all, they belonged to the municipal enterprise which is the owner of all motor roads of Kharkiv, was added in the secret service.
At the conclusion of a comprehensive construction and technical and economic examination, due to the illegal actions of the officials of the city budget suffered losses amounting to almost 5.3 million hryvnia.
Militiamen carried out searches in places of work and residence of defendants in the case, during which the seized documents with evidence of the transaction. Now two officials, including the Deputy head of the Department, it is reported about suspicion in Commission of crime under part 5 St. 191 (misappropriation and embezzlement committed in especially large sizes) the Criminal code of Ukraine.
