As the correspondent of the UNIAN reports, about it today at a meeting in the mayor’s office said Deputy mayor Paul Vogelman, answering a question of Deputy of the city Council Alexey Eremitsa, who asked for clarification on a statement made late last week during the international forum of Investment Promotion Forum of Odesa 5T about reserving a vacant space on the territory of Odessa for the construction of the spaceport.

Vogelman said that presented at the forum the project envisages the creation of multifunctional complex, which, including, will train specialists in the space industry.

“The complex involves the development, testing, and creating on the basis of one of our technological universities a base for the education of young people interested in obtaining work in the space industry”, – said Vogelman.

In addition, the complex includes acceleration business program, which includes attracting the best startups and companies to work with investors and the State space Agency of Ukraine, to establish a special center, etc.

Also, the city planned to conduct a series of appropriate space for conferences, seminars, etc.

“The first such international conference held in Odessa in November”, – declared Vice-the mayor.

Vogelman explained that the project will be implemented according to the law, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 2 October, the number of measures for the development of the space industry.

On the location of the spaceport and the funding of its construction, the Vice mayor said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 2 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding state regulation of space activities. The law will allow private companies to engage in activities in the space industry.
