The Kiev district court of Odessa today extended the detention of Petros Sarkisyan, the former Director of recreation and sports municipal complex “Victoria” which in 2017 during a fire killed three women from the creative team of “Adele”.

According to UNIAN, the measure of restraint at the request of the Prosecutor extended for 60 days.

In particular, the Prosecutor Oksana Mosko insisted on extending insulation Sargsyan, arguing that the case is of great public interest and the seriousness of the offense, the involvement of the accused Sarkisian.

The prosecuting attorney said that risks remain – upon his release, the defendant could abscond and exert pressure on witnesses, of which questioned not everything.

Protection ex-the camp Director denied the opportunity to come on the mitigation measure.

In addition, the lawyer Nikolay Stoyanov, representing the interests of the victims, said that the actions of the suspect may be a part of another crime of negligence (rather than breach of fire safety requirements).

In this regard, the measure may not be associated with the content in jail.

Sarkisyan in his turn, said that does not consider himself guilty. After hearing the parties, the court granted the Prosecutor’s request.

In addition, during the meeting, the court decided to re-apply to the State border service of Ukraine in order to clarify the whereabouts of the artistic Director of “Adele” by Tatiana Egorova. The latter is one of the main witnesses and, as previously reported, went to Spain, and the court hearing is not.

Chairperson of the judicial Board Victor Chaplitsky noted that the document in the state border service will receive today to find out whether back Egorov in Ukraine.

As reported the UNIAN, the fire, during which killed three women from the creative team of “Adele” in the Odessa camp “Victoria” occurred in the late evening of 15 September 2017. Law enforcement authorities have opened several criminal proceedings (they are already submitted to the court) involving the suspects, the Director of the complex Bedros Sarkissian, senior tutor Natalia Tsokur (Ancic), the former Vice-mayor of Odessa Zinaida Tsvirinko, the former head of the Kiev Department of GU gschs in the Odessa region and the inspector.

The court decided only by Tsokur, which sentenced to 3 years imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years. Of all of the defendants in jail only contains Sargsyan.

Prosecutors announced on suspicion of embezzling large amounts of budgetary funds the head of the firm, which was engaged in reconstruction of the “Victoria”.

29 November 2018, the Executive Committee of the Odessa city Council made the decision to transfer “Victoria” under the temporary accommodation of servicemen, 6 December, the court withdrew the arrest of the stone buildings of the camp. After training, the reservists left the territory of the complex.

February 18, 2019 Director of the Department of education and science of the city Council Elena buynevich said that the summer camp will open. In March it became known that independent experts have revealed serious violations of building norms in the construction of wooden cases and also found that the cause of the fire is not turned off, the heater supposedly left in the room of artistic Director of “Adele” by Tatiana Egorova. The artistic Director left the borders of Ukraine and is not on trial.

In August, “Victoria” opened in the camp rode in 103 children.
