Donald trump cancelled a visit to Denmark after its refusal to discuss the sale of Greenland.

Former Minister of foreign Affairs of Denmark Uffe Ellemann-Jensen noted that the cancellation of the visit of President of the United States Donald trump is a demonstration of disrespect to the Danish Queen.

It is reported by the European true with reference to the Jyllands Posten.

“In the end, it is an insult to our Queen. First, this person actually invites himself to our country, then the Queen responds by sending a formal invitation, and then he cancels the visit,” the diplomat said, adding that he had not heard of such cases before.

Another ex-foreign Minister of Denmark Martin Lidegaard called the story of trump’s plans to buy Greenland and related to the cancellation of his visit to Denmark, “diplomatic farce”.

“As a Dane (and conservative), I find that hard to believe. No reason at all trump decides (Autonomous) part of our country is for sale. It’s a shame then cancels the visit, which everyone was preparing. There are parts of the USA that are sold? Alaska? Please more respect, ” – wrote in a Twitter spokesperson of the Conservative party of Denmark Rasmus Jarls.

In opposition party Venstre, which is headed by former Prime Minister Lars Lokke-Rasmussen, consider that the cancellation of the visit trump is a reason to rethink the security policy of Denmark.

“We can no longer count on the United States,” – said the representative of the party Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, was quoted by the newspaper Extrabladet.

In response to this idea of Denmark’s policy stated that “now is not the XIX century” and the island is not for sale.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called the idea of trump as “absurd.” Greenland itself also rejected the idea that she could sell.
