In Chile there was a spill of 40 thousand liters of diesel fuel

KIEV. July 28. UNN. About 40 thousand liters of diesel fuel got into the environment, including into the ocean, because of the incident at the terminal of the Chilean mining and steel company CAP in the South of the country. This was announced on Saturday by the TV channel 24 Horas, reports UNN.

Spillage of fuel has occurred on the island of Guarello, located in the Pacific ocean 250 km from Puerto Natales.

Authorities sent to the scene of the incident the two boats to eliminate the consequences of the accident. As noted by the TV channel the head of the Maritime authority of the region Ronald Baas, weather conditions prevent the spread of fuel. “While we can say that the spill was limited to the area, but we need to wait for the arrival of our funds to form their own idea of what is happening there,” he added.

According to him, the vessel will arrive on the island on Sunday morning local time. Except for elimination of consequences of the spill, the place went to the Prosecutor who will investigate the incident.
