About it reported the edition “Duma” members of the crew. According to the newspaper, who disappeared during the fire, the sailor-motorman killed, is injured.
On Board during the fire there were 90 people. The fire started in engine room spread on deck. From-for strong smoke, the captain gave the command to abandon ship. Crew members were evacuated to the trawler “Marshal Krylov”.
“Because in the Navy of Mauritania missing firefighters and rescue vessels it was decided to organize a rescue operation because of other shrimp trawlers fishing in the area. The ship “Captain Suchorzewski” managed to make the mooring end and take the “stuffed cabbage” in tow, but in the process of towing the flames spread from the engine room and deck to the dwelling and the add-in. The ship was burnt almost completely and continues to burn,” – said the publication of one of the witnesses of the incident.
According to him, the ship is fuel, and the hold is full of fish products.
Fehtovalschiki of the trawler stated that all losses will be covered by the crew members.
Trawler “Ivan golubets” – is one of four Ukrainian ocean-going vessels owned by the state. Now it is chartered by the Latvian businessman, sailing under the Georgian flag, the newspaper notes.
