Parties and candidates spent on political advertising in Facebook more than 48 million hryvnia – SUPPORT
KIEV. July 19. UNN. Within the period of the election campaign parties and candidates spent on political advertising in Facebook more than 1 million 800 thousand US dollars, or 48 million hryvnia. This is stated in the report on the results of the observations relying on the extraordinary elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine on 21 July, 2019 of the Civil network “OPORA”, reports UNN.
“Within the period of the election campaign parties and candidates spent on political advertising in Facebook more than 1 million 800 thousand US dollars (48 million). More than $ 1 million on advertisements of a political nature spent public pages promoted by political parties and leaders of party electoral lists. Less than half — about 500 thousand dollars — was reached expenditure in furtherance of public pages with campaigning for candidates in single-member districts”, — noted in the organization.
In SUPPORT stressed that today there are no efficient mechanisms of control over the circulation of the money spent on online advertising by candidates and parties, and for compliance with the requirements regarding the procedure of funding election campaigning in the course of advertising in social networks.
