The head of RIA Novosti Ukraine Kirill Vyshinsky believes that his case was a disgrace to the country. He stated this in an interview with Ruptly.

“I hope that now those people who came to power, they are more sober, they realize that my case, which is discussed at different levels, including in Brussels, in the European Parliament, the OSCE — it is simply a disgrace to the country,” said Vyshinsky.

He noted that “to judge the journalist for his professional activity, by putting political purpose is stupid.”

Vyshinsky not previously pleaded guilty on indictment in court.

The journalist was taken into custody may 15, 2018, he is accused of treason.
