Businessman Roman Abramovich has donated $ 5 million to the Jewish Agency “Sohnut” in the fight against anti-Semitism. This is a record donation from the same donor in the organization’s history, the newspaper Israel Hayom.
The Chairman of the “Jewish Agency” Izzah the Duke thanked the owner and said that in recent years around the world has increased to record levels the number of attacks on the Jewish community. In particular, the growth of anti-Semitism is in Europe and the United States.
The donation will dispose of international arm of the organization, reports The Jerusalem Post.
Over the past 20 years Roman Abramovich has spent on charity more than $ 2.5 billion, of which about 500 million dollars were donated to Jewish organizations, mostly in Russia and Israel. In this regard, it in 2018 was awarded by the Federation of Jewish communities.
