KIEV. May 18. UNN. Malinovsky district court of Odessa the day before passed the decision to sentence to life imprisonment Basil Chemeris, who is accused of the brutal murder of an employee of the Odessa SIZO Helena Poroshenko. About it reports a press-service of regional court, reports UNN.

“The defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment. In the trial, the accused pleaded not guilty. When determining the type and extent of punishment to the accused the court considered the severity of the crime, the identity of the perpetrator, age and social status, character, motive, and circumstances of the offense and the circumstances mitigating and aggravating the punishment,” the court said.

The case was considered by Board of judges under the chairmanship of judge Alexey Starikov.

Now the sentence has not entered force.

We will remind, on August 17, 2017 in the Odessa remand centre No. 21 one of the prisoners killed a worker insulator Elena Poroshenko and dismembered her body.

Previously a suspect in the murder claimed that he was forced to kill a prison employee.
