Malinovsky district court of Odessa today has passed to debate in the case on the murder and dismemberment of a woman-the inspector, committed in August 2017.

As reported the UNIAN in court today continued consideration of criminal proceedings on charges of committing premeditated murder of the employee of the Odessa penal institutions. The case is considered a collective – consisting of two professional judges and three jurors.

The court questioned two witnesses stated the accused.

Due to the fact that the court ruled the clarification of circumstances and verification by evidence, the court turned to judicial pleadings. During his speech, the prosecution asked to appoint punishment in the form of lifelong imprisonment.

The defendant filed a motion for postponement to allow time to prepare for the debate.

The court extended the defendant the measure of restraint in form of detention for a period of 60 days.

The next hearing is scheduled for may 17.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 17, 2017 in the Odessa prison, the attacker killed and dismembered the employee insulator Alain Poroshenko. The unmasked suspect is 39-year-old prisoner, who was in prison, he had previously brought to criminal responsibility under article 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. At the time of committing the murder of the employee of the detention facility he was under investigation in connection with the Commission of a robbery (article 187 of the UCU).

In March 2018, the defendant stated in court that he killed the inspector allegedly at the request of two people who threatened him, the employee of the Odessa prison and the prisoner, who has already released. Allegedly, the crime was ordered to replace him as “the warden”. Later in the court he stated that he feared for his life. October 29, one of the jurors refused to participate in the trial.
