Four former officials of the Ministry of interior reported about suspicion regarding the tragedy on may 2, 2014 in Odessa

KIEV. May 2. UNN. Four former officials of the Ministry of interior reported about suspicion regarding the tragedy on 2 may 2014 in Odessa. It is reported by the Office of special investigations of the GPU in Facebook, reports UNN.

So, according to the results of the investigation into improper performance of official duties by police officers on ensuring protection of a public order on may 2, 2014 in Odessa reported about suspicion to the former: the chief GU MVD of Ukraine in Odessa region, his Deputy, the chief of the Odessa municipal government of gumvd of Ukraine in Odessa region, the head of the regiment of patrol and public security Department.

They are suspected in particular of committing a crime under part 2 St. 364 criminal code of Ukraine – abuse of official position, entailed heavy consequences, namely the death of 48 people, of 197 persons receiving injuries of varying severity, causing material damage in the amount of UAH 213 961,24.

In addition, officials are suspected of committing a crime under part 3 of article 135 of the criminal code of Ukraine, that is obviously a failure to assist persons in life-threatening condition that resulted in the death of 42 people.

Former chief of gumvd of Ukraine in Odessa region also is charged with committing a crime under part 1 St. 366 criminal code of Ukraine – official forgery of official documents about the alleged introduction of the plan “Wave”.

According to prosecutors, in February 2016 in respect of the chief of regional management and may 2018 in respect of three officials of the municipal government of UMVD of Ukraine in the Odessa region in the court directed the indictment on the above charges.

Trial of indictments continues.

It is noted that the former Deputy chief of gumvd of Ukraine in Odessa region is wanted and the issue of the use of the special procedure of pre-trial investigation (in absentia).

Additionally, completed pre-trial investigation and sent to court the indictment against three former employees of gumvd of Ukraine in Odessa region (part 1 of article 365, part 1 of article 367 of the criminal code of Ukraine) on the fact of improper performance of official duties that resulted in damage to 4 may 2014 property of the city control as well as abuse of power and unlawful release from temporary detention of 63 people.

Is also ongoing investigation on the possible influence of unknown consequence individuals, in particular, foreign workers of gumvd of Ukraine in Odessa region and other law enforcement agencies resulting in the latter did not take comprehensive and necessary measures to ensure the protection of public order on 2 may 2014 in Odessa.

As noted by the head of the UN Monitoring mission on human rights in Ukraine Fiona Fraser, the authorities in Ukraine have not done enough to investigate the tragedy on may 2 in Odessa.
