Arrived in Ukraine 130 paratroopers from the U.S.

As have informed in a press-service, the International centre for peacekeeping and security of the National Academy of ground forces named after Hetman Petro sahaydachnyi there was held a ceremony of transfer of authority between the two divisions of the American component of the mission JMTG-U.

To replace military personnel 278 th armored cavalry regiment of the National guard of the United States from Tennessee who were in the Lviv region since the summer of 2018 arrived in Ukraine more than 130 military 2nd brigade combat team “Strike” 101st airborne (air assault) division of the U.S. army. The rotation period on the territory of Ukraine for the us military will be 9 months, the defense Ministry reported.

American guardsmen from Tennessee did a very good job at training of Ukrainian units in the framework of the “combined group for the preparation of Ukraine” (JMTG-U) and received awards of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine, handed them to the head of the National Academy of ground forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk.

Representatives of the U.S. army will continue to help in training units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the standards of training of the armies of NATO member States. This military training mission known as the “combined group for the preparation of Ukraine” (JMTG-U). Activities beginning in 2015. Goal is to assist in the internal defense capacity of Ukraine and the training of rotational units in Ukraine. In addition, American soldiers will continue training Ukrainian military instructors in the near future must fully master the function of the training of personnel at battalion level.
