Ukrainian political prisoner was buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

This was reported in the press service of the LCC.

“Valentin Yakovlevich Moroz, a political prisoner, author and historian, who died April 16, will be buried on Saturday, April 20, at the Lychakiv cemetery. First, at 15.00 hours. in the chapel street Baking, 52, held a farewell and funeral rite. Then the body of the deceased will be taken at the Lychakiv cemetery”, – stated in the message.

Reference to UNIAN. Valentin Moroz was a member of the Ukrainian national movement. In the 60-70-ies of the last century was twice arrested for anti-Soviet agitation, and served his sentence in the camps. After his release through an exchange of political prisoners lived in America and Canada, where he was a Professor at universities, including Harvard. In the 90-ies he returned to Ukraine. Since 1997, lived in Lviv and taught at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture.
