Gnarr himself led the city in 2010, during the economic crisis, while not having any experience in politics.
“I think that comedians and humorists cool to try policy. Their participation in these processes brings benefits to society. After all, comics are, of course, smart and talented, and many of them have the ability to win the trust of the people,” said the ex-mayor.
He also said that the political “old-timers” were annoyed by his success at the polls.
“Many so-called “old wolves” policy was dissatisfied with my choice. Some even felt insulted. The reaction in the media was also not the most positive – some called me a charlatan, others criticized for the lack of any political experience, and everyone kept saying that I can’t handle this task. Some even said that comedians are somehow mentally retarded. In the city administration experienced a policy they called me a clown. I didn’t care about their minds!”, – says Gnarr.
The actor said that he had heard about Vladimir Zelensky – the Ukrainian comic who went into politics, and wished him good luck and gave advice.
“Expect the best but prepare for the worst. And more! Vladimir, if you choose, the main thing – don’t tire yourself out. After all, health is paramount,” said Gnarr Zelensky.
