NATO changed the allied forces in Europe

KIEV. March 16. UNN. The Alliance announced the appointment of General of the U.S. air force Todd Walters to the post of the Supreme commander the integrated armed forces of NATO in Europe. This is stated in the official statement posted on the Alliance website, reports UNN.

“The North Atlantic Council approved the nomination of General Todd D. Walters, U.S. air force, to the post of Supreme commander of allies in Europe”, – stated in the message.

NATO reported that General Walters while acting as commander of the Alliance Air command, chief of staff of the U.S. air force in Europe and in Africa and also heads the center of excellence application of air power, NATO.

After completing the necessary procedures, he will take office after the ceremony the change of command in Mons in Belgium this spring.

General Walters will replace on a post of the US army General Curtis Scaparrotti.

Recall, Scaparrotti said that the United States will give Ukraine two more boats of the Island class.
