Today, 5 March, first Deputy mayor of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov, the head of the representative office of Hyundai Corporation in Ukraine Jong Il Ryong discussed the possibility of the company’s participation in the tender for the construction of the subway and the purchase of rolling stock for the metro. About it reports news Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.

As noted by Il Ryong, Hyundai Corporation “has a great experience in such projects in different countries, including those that have used the same features subway in Kharkiv.”

“We do the work turn-key — fully put our system and rolling stock. We work with the government of Korea, so would like to continue our cooperation at the government level in the sphere of Finance other city projects”, – said the head of the representative office.

In turn Terekhov emphasized that Kharkiv is absolutely equal conditions for all bidders and is interested in cooperation in case of Hyundai Corporation wins the tender.

According to him, according to the technical conditions of tender for the purchase of rolling stock, it should be energy-saving new-generation trains equipped with asynchronous motors.

In addition, the first Deputy of the mayor of Kharkiv and the head of the representative office of Hyundai Corporation in Ukraine, discussed possible cooperation in the sphere of development of city electric transport.

“We discussed the possibility of attracting grant money to the Korean government for the maintenance of rolling stock and subsequent development of the project to update tram Park. But I stress that it should be complete solution – not just need to buy new trains, but there is a need to upgrade the tram tracks. For example, first you need to fix certain routes, and then to put them on the new trams,” said Terekhov.

Recall, the European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) has granted 160 million euros for the expansion of the Kharkiv metro. The money allocated for the construction of stations “Derzhavin” and “Odessa”, alekseevskogo depots, and 85 for the purchase of rolling stock.
