The Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of the Armed forces of the United States Joseph Dunford is expected to meet with chief of General staff of armed forces of Russia Valery Gerasimov in Vienna on March 4.

5 Jan Valery Gerasimov discussed with Dunford in the telephone the situation in Syria and the fight against terrorism.
The generals also confirmed the importance of maintaining the existing communication channel.
