IKEA has decided to contribute to the improvement of the aquatic ecology of our planet. The fruit of her efforts was a robotic boat with remote control Good Ship IKEA. It is intended for cleaning the water surface from debris and is made on the basis of a… toys for bath — SMAKRYP.
Obeying the commands of the operator, the boat can collect up to 20 kg of garbage at a time. Flotilla of several Good Ship IKEA mounted cameras is able to keep clean the waters of the river, while management is more reminiscent of the game.
Two boats already working in Deforde district in the South-East of London. It should be noted that in the framework of the educational initiative the ability to manage boats are available for everyone. After completion of the campaign, IKEA is planning to donate the court’s environmental charity Hubbub.
Demonstration of Good Ship IKEA is not only advertising, but also signals a serious problem – the pollution of rivers. As noted in IKEA, every year the city fished out of the Thames, about 295 tonnes of waste. The use of robotic ships could automate such works and make them much more effective.
