As reported by the acting Minister of health Ulyana Suprun on Facebook, judge of the district administrative court of Kyiv, Yulia Shramko stopped the action of the Cabinet of Ministers “On education National medical University, Odessa”.
“This is the reaction of the court in response to the application of the self-proclaimed acting head of the University Yuri Sukhin. While the court will consider the application, the reorganization will be terminated. To lawfully appoint an acting now impossible, and therefore, the institution will continue to lead Zaporojan and his henchmen,” – said Suprun.
She recalled that in the summer of 2018, the Ministry of health has dismissed a former University rector Valeriy Zaporozhan, and “the reason – a gross violation of the contract and the transformation of institutions of higher education in private fiefdom”. The acting rector of the Ministry of health has appointed Konstantin Aymedova.
“Then began hostile takeovers of the University with aunts and constant disruption of the educational process. Zaporozhan strongly sabotaged the work of the institution. And the courts played into his hands, issuing a number of regulations which forbade to give all persons the authority of the rector or the acting rector Onmeda in any way,” says Suprun.
She also notes that in order to resolve this situation, the government has supported the initiative of the Ministry of health to reorganize the University to create the Odessa national medical University by merging Onmeda and the Crimean state medical University named after S. I. Georgievsky.
“And here again, the Ministry of health returns without consideration, all documents not signed by authorized Ministry officials. This puts in jeopardy the educational process for more than 7 thousand students and 2,300 employees,” said Suprun.
According to her, all this is happening because of the “imperious ambitions of a few corrupt officials who do not want to go to their homes”.
