Foreign Minister of Canada reiterated its recognition of the opposition leader of Venezuela as interim President

KIEV. 24 Jan. UNN. The government of Canada recognized the speaker of the National Assembly (unicameral Parliament) of Venezuela Juan, Guido acting President is the current head of state Nicolas Maduro. Ottawa will have Guido full support, told reporters the head of the canadian Ministry of foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland in Davos, where she takes part in the annual economic forum, reports UNN.

“So let me on behalf of Canada to declare that we recognize and Express our full support to the interim President of Venezuela Juan, Guido, who was appointed by the national Assembly in accordance with the Venezuelan Constitution”, — quotes Freeland TV channel Global News. The Minister added that “this is an important day for Venezuela,” and announced that soon a Group of Lima will make a statement.

Earlier that Ottawa recognizes Guido acting President, citing sources in the canadian government was reported by Reuters and Agence France-Presse.

As noted by UNN, in Venezuela, protesters smashed the building of the regional administration.
