In the Odessa region of the first teachers to teach Ukrainian sign language
KIEV. 18 Jan. UNN. On the basis of the Odessa Academy of continuous education for primary school teachers who receive advanced training, enter the course the study of Ukrainian sign language. It is reported by the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine, reports UNN.
“Seminars for the study of Ukrainian sign language will allow you to work with pupils with special educational needs so that they feel more confident in society and to adapt more quickly to the educational process. Odessa region became the first where introduce such trainings for teachers. Now our priority is to embrace inclusive education as many areas of the region”, – said the Director of the Department of education and science of Odessa regional state administration Alexander Lonczak.
The course includes the study of the dactyl (manual alphabet), basic terms and gestures to everyday communication and the like. Trainers of teachers are teachers of sign language administrators and special boarding schools.
We will remind, earlier MES reported that the Ukrainian schools will appear in the alphabet of sign language.
