According to British experts, the spread of this hacking method, which is called “ransomware”, began last year. According to the authors of the statement, in the future, this technology, which makes it impossible to use the gadget without paying the ransom, will increasingly be used by hackers to capture phones, watches, toys, fitness trackers, digital photo frames, smart TVs and other equipment. All these devices are vulnerable to “ransomware,” which means that hackers can capture, for example, a TV, and demand that his master of the money for inclusion, said in a statement.

“Ransomware” in hours, fitness bracelets and the TV will be a challenge for manufacturers, and it is unknown whether they help customers who have bought their goods, to unlock them in cases like this, or advise to pay a “ransom” – said cybersecurity.

The statement also says that by 2020 the number of Internet-connected devices will reach about 21 billion pieces.
