Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” (UZ) Sevki acuner praised the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on the appointment of Evgeny Kravtsov Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsya”.

According to today’s decision of the government, Kravtsov was appointed Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsya” for a period of three years.
After approval of the new edition of the Charter of the company, the question of selection of candidate for the post of Chairman of the Board BONDS and the submission of a shareholder, the Cabinet of Ministers on the competence of the Supervisory Board of the company. The selection of candidates for the post of Chairman of the Board shall be in the manner developed by the Supervisory Board and approved by the Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine.
This order, according to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsya” Sevki of Aguner was developed, approved and coordinated with the Ministry.
“The members of the Supervisory Board, under this procedure, decided to evaluate the acting Chairman of the management Board Evgeny Kravtsov, in particular, with the involvement of the outside consultant on the selection of the personnel”, – said Acuner.
He stressed that based on the opinion of an external consultant, the Supervisory Board unanimously Kravtsov was elected candidate for the position of Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsya” and proposed for approval by shareholders.
Aguner welcomed the government decision on the appointment Kravtsov Chairman of the Board and expressed the hope that through the joint efforts of the Supervisory Board and the management Board of the company would be promptly approved the development strategy of “uz” carried out and urgent steps for its implementation.
According to the press service of UZ Kravtsov came in 2015 for the post of Advisor to General Director. Later he worked as Director (property reform and legal policy), “uz”, the head of the Department of reform and corporate development “Railways”, member of the Board of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the acting Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” and the first Deputy Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine – the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”. In August 2017 he returned to the prison and performed the duties of Chairman of the Board.
Under the leadership Kravtsov was completed the process of reforming the sector and adopted the first Charter of the company, carried out corporate governance reform, formed Supervisory Board of the company with the participation of independent members. Also the state Registrar conducted registration of amendments to the Charter of “Ukrzaliznytsya”. Its new edition was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 31 October 2018, Ukrzaliznytsia changed the perception of the company to private joint stock company.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers, which is the shareholder of “Ukrzaliznytsia”, 12 December 2018 approved an action plan on corporate governance of the company.
The press service noted that under the leadership Kravtsova successfully completed several important infrastructure projects: construction of the Beskid tunnel in the Carpathian mountains, the electrification of the plot Threads Solonicina in the direction Poltava-Kremenchuk (this is the first work on electrification after 6-year hiatus), the increase in throughput in the direction of the Donetsk – Kamysh-Zorya – Volnovakha – Mariupol. In addition, extremely tight deadlines, implemented the project on launching high-speed Express train “Kyiv – international airport “Borispol”.
Under the leadership Kravtsova started the most ambitious in the time of independence of Ukraine the renewal of rolling stock, said in UZ. So, in their own factories “Railways” was built and purchased from Ukrainian manufacturers, a record number of freight cars – more than 3,000 cars, the largest for the last 8 years the number of passenger cars – more than 100 – has passed capitally-regenerative repair, which extended their service life for 14 years.
The railway network of Ukraine came first the latest GE locomotives just delivered 20 of 30 under the framework of the agreement between Ukrzaliznytsia and the GE against a 15-year partnership to upgrade and modernize the rolling stock traction.
Under the leadership Kravtsov, according to the press service, the BONDS became the first and only public company in Ukraine, which began to procure diesel fuel with the use of a formula-based price changes with consideration of Platt. At the initiative Kravtsov introduced deregulation of fees for use of cars of UZ.
Currently, the company is preparing to launch the electrification of the direction Dolynska – Mykolaiv – Kolosivka, in accordance with approved Government projects of reconstruction of railway transport sections Dolynska – Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv – Kolosivka with electrification at the expense of credit funds of international financial organizations. Began planning for the electrification of the direction Kovel – Izov – state Border.
