As reported the UNIAN in a press-service of the mayoralty, the decision of the city authorities was taken on the recommendation of the Department of health of the Odessa city Council proposing to extend the holidays in the regional center prior to January 18, inclusive.

“With the aim of preventing the spread of measles virus, influenza and SARS, the Department of health of the Odessa city Council recommended to limit contact with school-age children,” – said at city hall.

According to doctors, this year compared to last there is an increased incidence of influenza and SARS, as well as the high incidence of measles.

In particular, in the Odessa city hospital for infectious diseases 1-10 January this year enrolled 50 patients with a diagnosis of “measles”.

It is noted that the aforementioned recommendations of the heads of educational institutions are also given the difficult weather conditions.
