The Bosporus and the Dardanelles are the key transit points for exporting Russian oil and grain from black sea ports. Every year they transported more than 120 million tons of oil and oil products. The closure of the Straits leads to a disruption of oil supplies from Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
In November it was reported that Ukraine will ask to close the Bosphorus to Russian warships for the armed aggression in the Kerch Strait.
