Zeman said he did not intend to apologize for the statement about Crimea

Czech President miloš Zeman is not going to apologize for my statement about the Russian-occupied Crimea, as he expressed his opinion. About Zeman said yesterday in interview to TV channel Barrandov TV, adding that he never apologizes for his opinions, reports the Prague Daily Monitor.

Zeman said that Ukraine cannot demand an official apology, as he expressed his personal opinion.

The Czech President said in an interview that has repeatedly called the annexation of Crimea illegal.

“But what is most important: Crimea is controlled by Russia, and I can’t imagine any Russian government, which has refused to join the Crimea”, – said Zeman.

On 10 October, speaking at a session of the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Zeman saidhe believes the seizure by Russia of the Crimea “completed thing” and offered to “solve the issue” with the payment of compensation to Ukraine. Members of the Assembly who spoke after him, did not react to these words, and some have even paid him compliments.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman called the Czech President “profoundly mentally ill” person.

The Czech Senate has adopted a statementcondemning Zeman.
