The law on Donbass does not exclude the power of the path of liberation of the occupied territories, and creates the preconditions for this. This was stated by Secretary of national security Council and defense Oleksandr Turchynov, reports hromadske.ua.

“The law, however, does not cross the path of peace, on the contrary, today, no one has broken the Minsk agreement. Yes, Russia is sabotaging them, she tries to offset them, but diplomatic way, in accordance with the position of the President, remains one of the priorities”, – he stressed.

Turchinov explained why this document is very important for Ukraine. First, the law recognizes Russia as an aggressor.

“It immediately negates Putin’s plans masking aggressive military operations under peacekeeping. What he wanted to do and what has been even discussed in the UN. That is, this law does not allow Russia to call himself a peacemaker, because you can’t be a peacemaker and aggressor at the same time,” said Secretary of the NSDC.

Second, the law clearly defines the protection of citizens of Ukraine who remained in the occupied territory, and also those who had to flee their homes and is now in the Ukraine, but lost their property, real estate, and the like.

“The law clearly States that any act, compiled in the occupied territories have no legal meaning. We actually protect our citizens from tyranny and terror in which they need to be,” – said Turchinov.
