The United States intends to increase its nuclear Arsenal to deter Russia

KIEV. January 13. UNN. The United States intends to increase the number of nuclear weapons. It is reported by UNN with reference to the Huffington Post, which obtained a draft US nuclear doctrine in 2018.

In the text of the doctrine is called “strategic necessity.”

In particular, the document refers to the need to increase the Arsenal of low-yield nuclear weapons — warheads with a low explosive force. This is due to the fact that the current shells have too great a disruptive influence.

“Russia believes that the limited use of nuclear weapons, potentially, including low-yield warheads, could give the country an advantage over the United States and its allies. This opinion is based on the idea that increasing the number and diversity of non-strategic nuclear systems may lead to the predominance of crises and local conflicts ”, – stated in the excerpt of the document provided by the publication.

In the text of the doctrine of correcting this view, Russia called a “strategic necessity.”

As reported UNN, the United States authorities plan to develop a new nuclear warhead and to equip its own ballistic missiles to deter Russia in the event of a conflict in Eastern Europe. This was stated by former senior Director of the national security Council on arms control and non-proliferation John Wolfsthal.
