As told at a press conference on June 19 the Director of public organization “Kievprayd” Ruslan Panuhnik, were seven attacks on the marchers in support of the LGBT community. “We know so far about the seven cases of attacks on participants of the “March of equality”. In General, in these seven cases, injured 10 people,” – said the organizer of the forum (quoted by UNN). She said that among the victims was a woman.

According to Panuhnik, so this year increased the number of attacks on the marchers. In addition, attacked the observer organization “Ozone”, the citizen of Belarus. It was also used force to the journalist by the police. “We will contact the police and discuss this matter to avoid similar incidents in the future”, – assured the participant of the press conference.

In turn, member of the Board of OO “Kievprayd” Zoryan KIS said that “he March took place without major incidents”, reports “Interfax”. “I know that in

However, a member of the Board of OO “Kievprayd” noted the high level of law enforcement during the “equality March” this year. “Despite the fact that the conditions were difficult, I was under the impression that the police handled fewer personnel. This means that the rule of law on the March was well planned,” said KIS.

First Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko said on the eve of Facebookthat “equality March” was held “without any provocations and adventures”. “Kiev and Ukraine have passed the test of devotion to fundamental European values, the right to be free, equal, be yourself,” – wrote the MP.

According to the organisers, “equality March” in Kiev was attended by about 4 thousand
people. Police reported about 2,5 thousand participants. Thus, the most balanced and closest to reality is the figure of 3.5 thousand participants, considered by the organizers. As noted by the BBC Russian service, the number of participants of the “March of equality” this year was a record.

In addition to Hiking for the first time the procession was on the March two cars, which were organized thanks to the financial support of the Elton John Foundation. The March was attended by the British Ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough. In his microblog she posted a photo of the procession, and wrote: “the Wonderful festive atmosphere on “Kievprayd 2017″. Thanks to law enforcement and government officials for creating a safe environment”.

However, according to “112 Ukraine”, the security during the procession controlled about five thousand security forces. Two employees of the Metropolitan police suffered minor injuries.

In the clashes during the March, was detained and subsequently released to six people. Yesterday it was reported that among the opponents of the March were representatives of the banned in Russia organization “Right sector”. In place of the March several young men were seized balaclavas and gas canisters. The marchers had to change the route to avoid collisions with opponents.

International LGBT forum “Kievprayd 2017” was opened on 14 June and ended on 18 June by holding a “March of equality”. Earlier, representatives of the LGBT community have repeatedly carried out such actions in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities turned into clashes with their opponents. In June 2015 on the “equality March” in the capital of Ukraine, which was attended by about 300 people, injured 11 police officers and several protesters, reminds RIA “Novosti”.
