At the fifth stage of “Diamond League”, which took place in Oslo, for the first time this season to start out the only Ukrainian medalist of the Olympics-2016 – Bohdan Bondarenko.

While our famous climber was in the company of virtually all major global competitors – the canadian Derek Drouhin (of the world champion and the Games in Rio), Qatari Mutasa Barsema, Briton Robbie Grabarz, Chinese Zhang Govea and his compatriot Andriy Protsenko, who earlier stages of this prestigious series was twice third.

However, in Oslo, oddly enough, Protsenko could not cope even with the initial height of 2.20, finishing at the last. Mark 2.29 became insurmountable, in addition to other participants for the same Drouhin and Grabarse. But Bondarenko got her first try and, thus, has already secured at least second place.

But further intense competition – of course, with Bersimon – it did not work. Bogdan well stormed 2.32, especially in the second attempt, but this time the strap underneath is not kept.

Inspired by this Qatari, breaking 2.32 with the first approach, did not stop and continued to delight the audience in splendid isolation. When 2.35 Mutsu obeyed only the third time, it seemed, that he was sure to say goodbye to the audience. But nothing like this – the black athlete undertook to storm the record of the current season – 2.38, although the previous one centimeter below – belonged to it. And the second jump was successful!

Thus, the benchmark for the future in the current season is set. It only remains to wait and Bondarenko will be ready to raise the level of “grandmaster” 2.40…
