Saudi Prince put nearly $0.5 billion over the da Vinci painting

Leonardo da Vinci’s “the Savior of the world”, sold at Christie’s auction for a record $450 million, bought Saudi Prince. This publication reports The New York Times.

The most expensive painting now goes to the newly opened Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The auction house Christie’s did not name the buyer, as without his permission they never do.

The high price is because of works painted by Leonardo da Vinci are known not so many (only 20), and all of them, except “Savior of the world”, are in Museum collections.
