Russia’s aggression is a threat to all OSCE participating States – the US Ambassador

Aggression of Russian Federation against Ukraine rudely rejects the principles of the Helsinki accords and is a threat to all countries members of OSCE. This was stated by Ambassador Michael Kozak, head of the U.S. delegation at the OSCE meeting in Warsaw, devoted to the protection of human rights, reports Voice of America.

He noted that 10 thousand people were killed and 24 thousand were injured as a result of Russian aggression. About 1.7 million Ukrainian citizens were forced to leave their homes.

“Quasi-Russian forces in Donetsk and Luhansk, which Russia held by force in power, equips and trains, which Russia is headed and with whom she spends fighting – threaten and intimidate the local population. In Crimea, the Russian government pursues the Crimean Tatars, ethnic Ukrainians and those who oppose the occupation”, – reads the statement of the Ambassador.

According to him, Russia is using intimidation and coercion tries to keep Moldova and Georgia on sovereign decisions to deepen its integration with Europe.

“Aggression of Russia in Ukraine and Georgia, intimidation of neighbours and the intervention in the democratic processes of the member countries of the OSCE are a threat to all countries members of OSCE,” – said Kozak.

Ambassador Kozak also said that Russia’s aggression abroad is next to the internal repression against the opposition and independent journalists.
