Poroshenko about the EU sanctions against Russia: the Price for the aggression needs to grow

President Petro Poroshenko welcomed the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend for one year the sanctions against the aggressor country of Russia for occupation of Crimea and war in Donbass. About this he wrote in Facebook.

“I welcome the decision of the EU Council to extend for another year the Crimean package of sanctions. The price for the attempt of annexation and aggression needs to grow”, – said the President.

19 Jun 2017 EU has extended the ban on investment in Crimea until June 23, 2018. The decision was made by the foreign Ministers of the European Union without discussion.

Russia has occupied the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014 year. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially declared on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly has condemned Russia’s actions and called the annexation and occupation of Crimea illegal. Against Russia were imposed economic sanctions. For the implementation by Moscow of the so-called elections with the participation of the Crimea in 2016-m to year the Parliament of Ukraine recognized the Russian state Duma is illegitimate.

The DNI and LC – terrorist organizations seized with the support of the Russian part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. Both organizations created, funded and contain Russia, where, among other things, the terrorists are getting fighters, trainers, and heavy equipment, weapons, ammunition, and fuel.
