Intel will build a swarm of robomobile 4th level of autonomy

When a U.S. company bought in March of this year, Israeli Mobileye in the first place it was planned to create a “car cloud”. The service in which it would be possible to combine all computing processes for automated transport. It is believed that to the 2020th each car will be daily generate 4 GB of data and they need somewhere to process.

Intel wants to become a leading player in this industry, but after a few months of research, the newly acquired technology, it became clear that have to start “from the cart”. The company announced the construction this year of a fleet of no less than hundreds of test “robomobile”. Transport platforms with extremely high level of automation of all processes – above only the fifth category when the seats in the cabin initially turned away from the window because the person generally does not participate in the management of the machine.

The construction and operation of the test robomobile will unfold in Europe, Israel and the US to cover different climatic zones, to ride over all types of roads and try out new technologies in the harsh real world conditions. Intel plans to create a fusion of computer vision systems, automated cartography and machine learning, which in future can be applied in a vehicle in any corner of the Earth.

Buying Mobileye has cost Americans $15 billion, in return they got access to the 237 unique versions of on-Board systems, as well as the opportunity to study the work of 3.3 million already-installed car navigation systems chips. Plus technology most Intel in the field of augmented reality and drones. But to start working still have the most basic is to teach the machine to travel on their own.Source — Intel
