In fact elections “Governor” of Sevastopol brought the case

Upon conduct of elections of the so-called Governor of Sevastopol initiated criminal proceedings. It is reported by the Prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The ARC Prosecutor’s office by results of consideration of the appeal of people’s Deputy of Ukraine Dmytro Belotserkovets have contributed information in the Unified register of pre-trial investigation on the fact of the occupation authorities of the Crimea on 10 September 2017 election of the so-called Governor of the city of Sevastopol.

The criminal proceedings are begun on signs of criminal offences stipulated by part 1 of article 110 of the criminal code of Ukraine – encroachment on territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, part 1 of article 111 of the treason, part 1 of article 332-1 – violation of order of entry in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and departure from it.

As part of the investigation will establish all the circumstances of the incident and identify involved in the holding of illegal elections on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The so-called elections for the position of “Governor of Sevastopol” was held on Sunday, September 10.

Russia has occupied the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014 year. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially declared on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly has condemned Russia’s actions and called the annexation and occupation of Crimea illegal. Against Russia were imposed economic sanctions. For the implementation by Moscow of the so-called elections with the participation of the Crimea in 2016-m to year the Parliament of Ukraine recognized the Russian state Duma is illegitimate.
